The Necklace

In what way is Madam Loisel "the daughter of the people"?

In the begining of the story it is refered"their elegance, their wits, and their sole heirarchy, making some daughters of the people the equal of the very finest ladies."

Madame Loisel comes from a simple background. Her family was not rich, she had no inheritance, and was not destined to marry into wealth. Madame Loisel hence represented the common people. She was part of the masses of people who were not born into wealth and entitlement.
