What section of the book does the Two Towers movie end?

My son is excited to see the second movie but he must finish the book first. I'm thinking that he technically doesn't have to finish the book since Shelob appears in the 3rd movie. Does Jackson lop off the Two Towers at the beginning of Shelob's Lair and add the end of TT into ROTK?
