Henrietta Lacks had each of these elements broken. She was not fully consulted in what was being done to her or that they were taking out her cells for experimentation. She was treated like a donor body without consent or even knowledge of the cells taken from her cervix. A polio vaccine would later be developed from her cells, now known as immortal HeLa cell line, that have been used in contemporary biomedical research.
