Here’s the scenario. A man from Sudan gets on a plane heading for New York. He doesn’t realize it yet but the Ebola Zaire virus had infected his lung tissues 12 hours earlier, incorporating its genetic material into his DNA, right in the middle of a gene coding for a mucal protein. This caused a mutation to occur, allowing the virus to aerosolize. Every time he coughs due to a build-up of mucus in his lungs, he spews millions of pathogens.
