I think Orwellian dystopian literature has a special place in our society today especially because shades of this literature are everywhere around us. Surveillance cameras are common almost everywhere and the internet is the perfect tool to find out what people are doing. The data you use is used by companies to mine information on people of different demographics. A very Handmaid's Tale-like narrative is being played out in many countries, including the United States, over women's reproductive rights.
