The list is given in another answser, but consider this: one of Nick's best qualities is his ability to look at all sides of a situation. It is this ability to consider many sides that gives him his "sensible" attitude about many things that happen in the story. Even though the Buchanans and Gatsby have money, one of the things they do not have is Nick's traditional value system. This might be the most important advantage because Nick always has those values to fall back on.
