The old money from east Egg is a seemingly endless list of filthy rich who have inherited fortune or from families that have been rich for generations. Most tended to be older. They can be linked with established industries and titans of commerce. The newly rich from West Egg tended to be younger. Many found their wealth in the new film business or derived their money from entrepreneurship of some sort. Some have emotional and mental health issues arising from their new found wealth like, "Henry L. Palmetto, who killed himself by jumping in front of a subway train in Times Square."
