Tom views "love" as a possession. I don't think he feels love in the traditional sense. He sees love as something he has acquired and pays for.

Daisy sees love very much like an adolescent. She is swept away with the idea of romance but unable to separate it from the idea of wealth.

For Gatsby, love is very much an illusion. He feels he can re-create whatever fantasy he has with Daisy using his headstrong will and his immense wealth.
