Gatsby really wants to show off his wealth to Daisy. We get the sense he has been doing his tour in his head for years. Gatsby takes a route through his mansion which highlights exactly what a millionaire he is. He takes her through the lavish hallway and then to the exquisite period rooms that are bathed in silks and fresh cut flowers,

"He hadn't once ceased looking at Daisy, and I think he revalued everything in his house according to the measure of response it drew from her well-loved eyes."

I'm not sure if Gatsby knew how superficial Daisy was and that this would impress her, perhaps his wealth is all he thought he had to offer her.
