Describe the meeting of Tom and Gatsby. What does this meeting reveal about them?

This tells us that Tom is the superficial entitled jerk we supposed him as. When Gatsby accepts Tom's invitation he says, "My God, I believe the man's coming...doesn't he know she doesn't want him?" Gatsby's obsession with Daisy is also apparent. Despite the animosity and ill-feelings he accepts the dinner invitation just to be near Daisy.
