How do Jeannette and Her siblings tolerate abuse ? To what extent do you sympathize with her situation?

Ask her justifications ( for her father’s behavior, her mother’s neglect, etc) valid she been taught to believe in a false reality?

Jeannette and her siblings tolerate the abuse by becoming self-sufficient and learning to take care of each other. They cannot depend on their parents, so they depend on each other. Jeanette's justifications for her parents' behavior come from her desire to excuse them. She loves her parents, and to admit that they are bad parents would cause her to question their love for her. She knows her parents love her.... they simply have no parenting skills. Nor, do they giut thve thought to anyone but themselves. They are selfish, self-serving, and neglectful.
