In teaming up with Ellsworth Toheey what is Dominique trying to accomplish? why?

Dominique sees Roarke's greatness, but she doesn't believe that either greatness or goodness can survive in a rotten world. Her purpose in teaming up with Ellsworth is to help bring Roarke down before the world does......... it's a form of protection, and yet it's also something she wants to fail at, as her failure would mean that she's wrong, and goodness can survive.
