Dreams are a reoccurring motif in this story. Dreams are everywhere just waiting to be interpreted to guide Gilgamesh on his journey quest. In one dream Gilgamesh embraces a meteorite, which has fallen to earth. In another dream, he embraces an axe. Gilgamesh has many more dreams on his way to the Cedar Forest. The dreams become a mode of communication between Gods and Mortals. Enkidu is able to interpret the dreams that Gilgamesh has. The dreams are often epic in nature, which mirror his own epic quest.
