Anne changed a lot during her time in the annex. She grew more mature, more patient, and more understanding. She learned how to get along with the people around her, and she fell in love. Her romance with Peter was rather short-lived, as in the end, Peter didn't mature quite as quickly as Anne did. None-the-less, Anne learned to view love, people, and the world in a whole new way. She never gave up and remained optimistic, even in the midst of their trials.
