The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank

“There are no walls, there are no bolts, no locks that anyone can put on your mind.”

Who is saying this quote in the Diary of Anne Frank the play version? Who was the person saying the quote to? And what does it mean?

“There are no walls, there are no bolts, no locks that anyone can put on your mind.”

This is from the play version of the book. Mr. Frank says this to Anneke. He is telling Anneke that although her body is confined to the annex, her mind does not have to be: she can go wherever she likes in her mind.
