I think Ann is writing in a lyrical fashion here using apostrophe to characterise her fountain pen. I think Ann is having some fun with language in a way that helps define her sense of joy with the written word. Ann's personality and sense of humor comes out with her "ode to a fountainpen" which the reader does not always get to see.
