Do you agree with her statement about the essential eveil in people?

Entry Wednesday May 3 1944 pg 22-224 Anne discusses that she feels that: "there's in people simply an urge to destroy.."

Historically, yes, I'd have to agree. This quote when read in context deals with the existence of war and destruction. War has been around for as long as man. Wars, slavery, and destruction are a large part of history all the way through to the modern day. Without change, which is what Anne talkes about in the same sentence........ history will continue to repeat itself.

"There’s in people simply an urge to destroy, an urge to kill, to murder and rage, and until all mankind, without exception, undergoes a great change, wars will be waged, everything that has been built up, cultivated, and grown will be destroyed and disfigured, after which mankind will have to begin all over again."
