The Crucible

In act 3, statements like “Don’t take this personally, but…” often come before criticism. What are Giles Cory and Francis Nurse pointing out about the trials?

I need some help answering this question, the wording for the question is a bit strange to me and I am having a hard time understanding what to answer to in the first place. Please help.

They are pointing out the girls and the witch court are a farce.
