The Color Purple

What is the Olinka view of women? And on a more personal level, what are the limitations put on Tashi and why? Provide details to explain this from pages 155-157, 160-162. How does this compare to Nettie's experience in the US?

This is a patriarchal society where the highest honour for a woman is to become one of the chief's wives. Tasha isn't allowed to go to school so Olivia tries to teach her things. Nettie finds the discrimination gender based rather than ethnic based. Still Nettie is happy to have a hut of her own.
