Grusha gives and pays throughout the play without getting anything in return like the proletariat. Although she does not expect ant justice from Azdak, he does help her. Azdak is a sort of "Robin Hood" figure who turns justice around. Azdak is generally a miserable man but refuses to inflict misery on others.

Azdak play a role of justice to the poor and Grusha shows humanity when saving the life of Michale
