The Book Thief

What metaphor does Death offer for Han’s body? When Liesel is finally able to look at Hans, what does Death see?

Metaphor:

Papa was a man with silver eyes, not dead ones.

Papa was an accordian!

But his bellows were all empty. Nothing went in and nothing came out.

When Liesel is finally able to look at Papa, Death sees love..... the person Liesel loves the most..... her home.
