How is the name of liesel's new street ironic?In other words, how is the street opposite of what one would expect from its name?

Do you mean Himmel Street? I'm not sure of the meaning of "Himmel".

In the beginning of the book, death actually explains the meaning of Himmel St. It means "Heaven". Most of Liesels loved ones end up dying.
