In my opinion, the banker doesn't really have two apparent qualities. One of his qualities, though questionable on the quality scale, would be his willigness to back his beliefs.
"It's not true! I'll bet you two millions you wouldn't stay in solitary confinement for five years."
Note, the banker asks for five years.... the lawyer makes it fifteen.
