Taylor reads about wisteria vines; they grow with the help of rhizobia which are tiny bugs that suck nitrogen from the soil to help the plant. Similarly Taylor, Esperanza and the other characters that make up Turtle's new family help suck the poison out of Turtle's life to help make her grow.
