What did Tom and Huck do when they were searching for treasure ?

Tom and Huck changed their minds a few times while digging for treasure. They started in one place, and then quickly switched to another. Then they decided to dig near the haunted house and changed their minds again. In the end, they'd walked three miles and made a big mess... with no treasure to show for it.
