How do Tom and Huck display bravery after spying on injun joe and buried treasure?

Tom shows bravery when he's called to the witness stand and testifies that it was in fact Injun Joe who committed the murder. Even Tom didn't know he was going to tell the truth, but by doing so he gained everyone's respect and the gratitude of Muff Potter who was accused of something he didn't do.
