In your opinion how were children's rights in the Society, and how could have they been changed?

Children back during this time had little rights. It is difficult to change a society that has not even evolved past slavery. There were so many unspeakable crimes against humanity that had to be addressed before white children, who lived much better lives than blacks, should have been addressed.
