Jim is the first person Huck tells that his father has been around. He believes the Jim can tell the future with his "hairball" (yep), and he wants to know what's going to happen. Huck doesn't even tell the Judge about his father, and yet he trusts the Judge with all of his money. But he does trust Jim.
