How does the weather in the graveyard scene of Chapter 29 contrubute to the mood?

Mr Wilkes questions the King about markings he would have seen had he really known his brother...... suspicious of what's going on the body is ordered exhumed. The weather adds to the tension when a great storm blows in, and the men are forced to dig the body up by the flashes of lightening that surround them.
