How did you feel when you found out that Tom had been hiding the truth about Jim's freedom all along? How do Jim's and Huck's reactions fit with their personalities?

This question calls for your opinion.... there is no right or wrong answer. Personally, I thought Tom's omission was thoughtless and dangerous. Tom's behavior is typical.... it's all about him, an adventure. Huck, on the other hand, displays a great deal of maturity..... something we've seen grow over the course of the novel.
