Chapter 23 - Section 23.3 - Classification of Humans - Check Your Progress - Page 514: 2

Answer

The benefits of binocular vision: Binocular vision is vision in which visual fields from two eyes overlap and enable the animal to see a single object in three dimensions and with good depth of field. In primates both eyes have moved to the front of the head. This facilitates stereoscopic vision-- images from both eyes are slightly different-- which increases depth perception. For primates this enables them to more accurately judge distance of/between objects.
