Answer

A stroke can occur as the result of the formation of a blood clot in a blood vessel of the brain, causing the death of brain cells fed by that blood vessel. If a patient has already had a stroke, the patient would have an increased possibility of having another stroke. Aspirin, which reduces the clotting ability of blood, would be helpful because it would decrease the possibility that a blood clot would form in a blood vessel of the brain in the future.
