In my opinion, Paul's statement would have been an eye-opener for his parents..... mainly because they'd kept their own eyes closed in regard to their eldest son. Paul told the truth..... he spoke to the importance of the boy who died and the injustice of his death. He spoke of the brother who'd never given him a break, and who he had no reason to speak up for. I think Paul's parents likely felt a huge range of emotions while reading through Paul's statement, and I'd like to think that the majority of those feelings were tinged with sadness and regret.
