in salome by oscar wilde two soldier talk about the body of slaied capitan and says "The Tetrarch does not care to see dead bodies, save the bodies of dead..." what mean the word save in this sentence?

This simply means they need to take the dead bodies of soldiers not killed by the Tetrach because the Tetrach only wants to see bodies killed by himself.
