Ironically, the Friar's plan completely falls apart. Romeo receives the news of Juliet's death from the wrong person, the messenger is held up in transit, and Romeo has an earlier dream pointing to Juliet's death. During those years, it is easy to believe someone would be detained because of suspicion of illness, the plague killed masses. I can also see Balthasar quickly passing such news onto his friends.... so, if I had to choose a coincidence that seems a bit more unreal than the others, I'll have to choose Romeo's dream.
