I can't speak to each color but Luhrmann's visual style is controlled chaos and color. He likes to bring the frenzied situations out through his bold use of color and crazy camera work. He, for example, puts Juliet in angelic white representing purity. Luhrmann has a similar visual style in his rendition of The Great Gatsby (2013) where he uses deep splashes color and to depict the excess and grandeur of Gatsby's parties.
