Why does Cassie cry for T.J. at the eneds of the book, even though she never liked him?

Although TJ was not her favourite person in the world, she knew that TJ was used by his two white "friends". Cassie knows he TJ was set up and that he will have to do hard black time in prison. black time is much worse than white time.
