Why was Elizabeth reluctant to tell Darcy that she thought his estate was beautiful?

Elizabeth works diligently to avoid letting Darcy know that she might have "feelings" for him. By showing any kind of interest in him or his estate, she might send the wrong message and her pride would prevent that.
