Can you compare Jane to the characters which can be found in the work of Shakespeare(Romeo and Juliet)?

Jane might be compared to Juliet. There are really not a lot of female characters in R & J. While Jane seems more down to earth and selfless than Juliet, they are both young and enamoured with the prospect of romance.
