Decide if the story would be better or worse if you knew what Fortunato did to Montressor. Explain.

I don't think the story would have been as effective had the reader known the insult. Montresor must remain an unreliable character to keep the unique tone of the story. Montresor's wild passive-aggressive ruminations are what makes Montrsor, like all Poe's protagonists, so interesting.
