How do the townspeople of vanity know that the pilgrims are foreigners? What does their response to the pilgrims indicate about Bunyan’s view of Christians in the world ?

The townspeople knpw that the two Pilgrims are foreigners because they dress differently, and they speak a different language. As a result, they consider the pilgrims madmen.... crazy. From their reaction, we can infer that Bunyan does not have a high opinion of the Catholic church.
