Parallel Journeys

In the book Parallel Journeys Helen obviously decided not to pursue "the truth about Mevrouwtje" Did she make the right choice?

I am just curious what people think, I had to do a summary and I got stuck on that question.

For Helen, yes, I think it was the right decision. She was trying to begin a new life for herself and Doris, she needed to get a job, and she needed her independence. To continue in searching for the truth about Mevrouwje would have kept her tied to the past and present rather than making forward strides into the future. She had friends in the underground who would have found out what they could for her, but moving on was necesaary..... I think she did the right thing, but it would have torn her apart inside regardless.
