What did the character "Fagin" in "Oliver Twist" mean to Dickens?

I'm not sure what you mean..... what aspect of the character are you referring to? Many believe that Dicken's portrayal of Fagin is based upon racial stereotypes. Others believe he is fashioned after a Jewish thief by the name of Ikey Solomon. 

I'm not going to waste my time teaching you something you couldn't be bothered to learn for yourself.
