What similarity can be found in the death of the puppy, in the beginning of the chapter and in the death of Curley's wife?

Lennie was too rough with the puppy, and it died as a result..... then he hides it. Curley's wife dies in much the same way, although, had she not begun to struggle and scream, it might have had a different result. Like the puppy, Lennie hides her body haphazardly.
