Of Mice and Men

What sems to be Curley's wife's role in the story? What might this indicate about the way women were viewed during the Despression?

Chapter 2, Of mice and men, quotations would be awesome! thanks!

Curley's wife serves as the antagonist to the antagonist. She is the only woman, a constant source of attention, and a huge source of jealousy. Curley's wife unfortunately doesn't act the way most woman would during the Depression, which is why her husband is so jealous. Most women would have stuck to their homes and stayed out of the bunkhouse.
