I need to do a term paper on oedipus the king I have to do faith and the role of gods in human destiny! please if anyone can help , I would really apreciate it. I need to to this paper as soon as possible.
I would start by examining how all of the Greeks have implicit faith in the power of the gods. One could argue that the prophecies of the divine beings come true through a self-fulfilling, since the characters immediately accept them. Even they though try to run - as Oedipus did - by running they fulfill the prophecies. The question becomes whether it is our decisions that damn us...or at least you could argue that. This is where I would start, since there is lots in that.
