No, I've never fought back against a bully. Covey's reaction was the typical bully reaction; he didn't call the authorities, he didn't have Douglas whipped, in fact, he didn't do much of anything. To have revealed the fight and Douglas' beating would have lost him his position as the slave breaker. He is prideful, and that's why he kept his mouth shut.
