Isabel visited Zolile High School as part of a school debate organized by Mr. M, a dedicated teacher who believed in using education to bring people together. Isabel, a white student from a privileged background, came to debate against Thami, a black student from Zolile. Mr. M’s goal was to show that young people from different races could learn from each other and build a better future for South Africa.

The visit became one of the best things that happened to Isabel because it opened her eyes to the deep inequalities and struggles faced by black South Africans under apartheid. Before the visit, Isabel lived a comfortable life and was unaware of how different life was for others. Meeting Thami and seeing the conditions at Zolile helped her grow emotionally and intellectually. She began to understand the importance of justice, equality, and standing up for what is right.

This experience changed Isabel's view of the world. It helped her become more socially aware and more connected to the people around her, regardless of race or background
