Much Ado About Nothing

Act 4, we have the fulfillment of the two deceptions. How are these two deceptions (the death of Claudio’s marriage—Don John’s plot and the profession of love by Benedick and Beatrice-the goal of Don Pedro’s plot) directly linked in this Act?

Don Pedro is simply a bad guy, sort of like Iago in Othello but not as bad. He wants to ruin things for others he thinks have advantages over him. I think he's just lonely.
