The Prince of Morocco is a Moor (Black) who seeks Portia’s hand in marriage. The Prince asks Portia to ignore his dark complexion and marvel at his "manliness". He thinks one dimensionally; believing that gold is worth the most hence should reflect Portia's beauty and worth. He picks the gold casket and is rather angry when he gets it wrong.
